Welcome Letter
Dear Friends,
In the summer of 2008, San Francisco will host the 42nd International Children’s Games (the “Games”). The Games, founded in 1968, promote peace and goodwill through children and their involvement in athletics. From July 10 through 15, 2008, the City will welcome 1,500 athletes (ages 12 to 15), with their coaches and city officials, representing 100 cities and 50 countries. The athletes, both boys and girls, will put forth their personal best in basketball, golf, soccer, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.
You can support this exciting event by volunteering to assist with the Games. Volunteers are needed to help with the operation of the Games, from sport, hospitality, media relations, ceremonies and many other facets that are needed to put on a spectacular event. Please take a few minutes to review the Volunteer Section of the web-site and feel free to complete the Volunteer Application Form, which you can automatically submit on-line. Feel free to share this information with your family and friends.
If you have any questions about volunteering for the 42nd International Children’s Games, please see our website at www.sficg2008.com or send an email to volunteers@sficg2008.com.
I look forward to having you on our team
Sincerely,
Pomp Chobpanich Scott McRoberts
