Kumasi is located in south central Ghana about 150 miles from Accra. Due to it’s proximity to the equator, Kumasi is located in Africa’s Rainforest Region and is known as “The Garden City” because of the many beautiful species of flowers that flourish there. The city economy is largely dependant on its tropical climate and mainly exports cocoa and hardwoods, however thanks to gold deposits in the region Kumasi is somewhat wealthier than nearby towns. Kumasi is also well known as the birthplace of Kofi Annan, former Secretary-General of the United Nations (from 1997 to 2007) and co-recipient of the 2001 Nobel Peace Prize. Nairobi, Kenya

Nairobi is Kenya’s capital and largest city; its name comes from the Maasai phrase Enkare Nyorobi, which translates to "the place of cool waters." Nairobi is seated on the edge of the tectonic region known as the Great Rift Valley, which accounts for the interesting topography of the area, Mount Kenya and Mount Kilimanjaro are both visible on a clear day, as well as the city’s frequent earthquakes and tremors. Among other industries Nairobi is known as the “Safari Capital of the World” because of the number of Safari wildlife tours that originate there.
